Welcome to The Doctors Onehunga - we're open for you

We're providing our service in a new way to ensure you and your whanau remain safe. If you are concerned about coronavirus, have a cough, cold or flu-like symptoms – let us know.  If your normal GP or medical centre is closed during COVID-19, give us a call 09-634 5184, we can do phone consultations to help you even if you're not enrolled with us.

We are a family friendly, welcoming medical practice that provides you with General Practice health care as well as Urgent Care services for accidents, injuries and other unexpected illness. We are open and here to help you and your family.

We are a designated Testing Site

If you have a cough, cold or flu-like symptoms, please phone 09 634 5184 to arrange for a time to be tested by our friendly team.  COVID-19 testing is FREE for eligible patients.

You can also send us an email to covid@oam.thedoctors.co.nz - please use 'COVID Test' as the subject and include the following:  Full name; Date of Birth; Address; Contact phone number; Details of the symptoms you are having (including the date they started)

PLEASE NOTE:  The safety and well-being of our patients and staff is our priority. Patients visiting for COVID-19 testing are directed to a different parking area, away from the main entrance. Tests are carried out in your car where possible or in an isolation room if an assessment is required. This means that if you need to visit the clinic for another reason, e.g. your flu vaccine, you will not be exposed to any COVID-19 testing.

Use ConnectMed online to book phone consults

To protect our patients, staff and community, we have online booking for phone consultations. Normal charges will apply. By introducing a telephone strategy, we will reduce the risk of an infected person visiting our practice and ensure we can continue meeting demand for other patients who need care throughout this trying time. Click here for more information.

We will endeavour to keep to the time schedule but pressure on the medical centres may make the exact time hard to keep to. Rest assured we will be ringing you. We appreciate your patience and understanding and want you to take comfort in the knowledge that this is an effective way for our community to unite against COVID-19. Together, we can slow the spread.

We are open seven days a week, and all urgent care services are available without appointment, although patients can make an appointment to see a doctor of their choice. The Doctors Onehunga - accident and medical is an ACC-endorsed Urgent Care Clinic, and we are proud to be RNZCGP 'Cornerstone' quality accredited.
