Men's Health

All our medical centres offer comprehensive men’s healthcare services. Many men don’t prioritise their health until it’s too late, so be proactive and take care of yourself.
We understand the importance of feeling comfortable discussing private and sensitive topics when you come to see us. All visits are confidential, as per our obligations.

Cardiovascular Health

Heart disease is one of the most common health issues for men. In New Zealand, it claims over 3,600 male lives annually and disproportionately affects Māori and Pacific men. If you have a family history of heart issues or want a regular check-up, schedule an appointment with your GP for a thorough examination.

Prostate Health

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men in New Zealand. Regular check-ups and screenings can help detect issues early. The earlier a cancer is found the earlier treatment can begin when it can be most effective. We recommend discussing prostate tests with your GP if you're over 50, or younger if you have a family history of prostate cancer.

Testicular Health

Self-examinations for testicular health are important for early detection of potential issues. Men should perform a testicular self-exam monthly to check for any lumps, swelling, or changes in size or shape. If you notice anything unusual, please schedule an appointment with your GP for further evaluation.

Sexual Health

Sexual health is an important aspect of men’s well-being. If you're experiencing concerns related to erectile dysfunction, libido changes, or sexually transmitted infections (STIs), our GPs are here to help. Open discussions about these topics are vital. There are effective treatments and support available.

Mental Health

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Most men face mental health challenges at some point in their life. Yet they hesitate to seek help. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or other mental health concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Our GPs can connect you with appropriate avenues for support and help.

Lifestyle Guidance

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle positively impacts men’s mental and physical well-being. If you're looking for advice on nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, or managing stress, our GPs are here to help. We take a holistic approach to your health. Our clinical team often includes Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) and Health Coaches (HCs) to support your goals.

Health Assessments

Regular health assessments are essential as you age. A GP or Nurse Practitioner will check key health indicators, including blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar. If you manage a chronic condition, you’ll need to visit a GP for regular reviews to monitor your health and medication. These are usually annual, but your GP may advise a different recurrence.
