What is Walk-In Care?
Walk-In Care, also referred to as an Acute Walk-In Clinic, is for people who have accidents, injuries or sudden illness, that do not appear be life threatening but can’t wait for a normal booked GP consultation. Our Walk-In clinics are either same-day appointments or a walk-in service where patients are seen in order of medical priority, usually with a GP, Nurse Practitioner or Extended Care Paramedic.
Do I need to book for Walk-In Care?
Most practices don’t require an appointment to be seen, however some do. Check your local medical practice for more details or give them a ring to discuss your symptoms and appointment availability. There may be a short wait time depending on the clinical team available and the number of people visiting simultaneously. People with more serious symptoms will receive priority treatment. If you have any concerns while waiting, please speak to our team.
