Celebrating 30 years of The Doctors medical centres
On 1 September this year we proudly celebrate 30 years of delivering the best health care and advice to our communities around New Zealand. It all started in 1989 when The Doctors was founded in Napier by Simon Bednarek, Tony Edwards and John Reekie.
The very first medical centre started on the site at 30 Munroe St and since then has had several renovations. The Doctors became a franchise and opened practices in Hastings, Palmerston North and nationwide. Green Cross Health became a shareholder in 2014.
The Doctors (Napier) Ltd now has four medical centres under it’s umbrella: The Doctors Napier, The Doctors Greenmeadows, EIT Health Centre and The Doctors Westshore (formally Dr Marjorie Craig’s Practice).
Over the years we have grown and changed a lot. We now have over 40 The Doctors medical centres around New Zealand supporting our communities – we look forward to the next 30!
