Kia ora,
Your COVID-19 test is POSITIVE. You and your household contacts must isolate for 7 full days from the date your symptoms started or, if you do not have symptoms, from the date of your test. You can leave isolation after 7 days provided you have no ongoing symptoms or if symptoms persist beyond this time, you must wait until 24 hours after your symptoms have resolved. You do not need any more tests to leave isolation.
People living with you in the same house ("household contacts") must also isolate for the same 7 day period as you. They should have a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on day 3 and day 7 of isolation. They should also take a test immediately if they develop symptoms. If they test positive, they will also need to isolate for a full 7 days from the date of their positive test or the date of their symptoms starting (whichever is earlier). Members of your household who do not test positive do not need to restart their 7 days of isolation if another person in the house tests positive, so if they remain negative they can also be released at midnight on your day 7 regardless of new cases in the house. If they develop symptoms after this time they should do another test however. RAT tests can be requested by calling
0800 222 478, or by going to
The Request RATs website
