At The Doctors Welcome Bay, the health and wellbeing of our patients are the top priority for our team. Booking online

We are excited to be able to offer you an online portal called Manage My Health (MMH) that allows you to:

  • Request repeat scripts 
  • Books appointments with Doctors and Nurses
  • Access test results

Appointments

Standard appointments are set at 12-15 minutes and are the basis for our fees. If you require an extended appointment that exceeds the standard time please make sure you specify this at time of booking.

Urgent

  • If you are acutely unwell ring the surgery and ask to speak to a nurse who will help make arrangements. We reserve a small number of appointments for this.

Walk-In Clinic at affiliated clinic

  • When our GP appointments are full we have a doctor available in our walk-in clinic at our affiliated practice at The Doctors Tauranga, Cnr 14th Ave and Devonport Road.
  • Please phone our practice and we will arrange a referral for you to The Doctors Tauranga walk-in clinic. Open Monday–Friday 8am – 6pm

Waiting time and delays

  • We make every effort to run our appointments on time. Unexpected emergencies occur and some consultation will run over time, please bear with us if your appointment is delayed.

Repeat prescriptions

  • Please allow 24-48 hours for repeat prescription requests.
  • Repeat Prescriptions fee $20
  • You will be required to see your doctor every 3-6 months if requiring repeat medications.

Laboratory & X-Ray results

  • Any significant abnormal results you will be notified by a nurse.
  • Please phone nurse line for confirmation of normal results, of if you have any further questions.

Hours

Open 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday.  After hours, please call our number 07 576 7912 and you will be diverted to a nurse for medical advice.
The Doctors Bayfair is open on weekends for minor acute care, please see The Doctors Bayfair.

Unfortunately we are not accepting new patients at this time. We will advise as soon as this changes. Thanks for your understanding.

Usually we do warmly welcome new patients.  Being enrolled has many advantages:

•    We send you reminders and recalls for important health management
•    Pay less to see the doctor
•    Pay less for prescriptions (for subsidised medicines prescribed by your doctor)
•    Appointment bookings

Simply ask at reception or download our enrolment form below. Complete all the sections and send back to us by email, post, fax or bring it in with you.  You may need to bring in an original ID document (e.g. Drivers’ License, Birth Certificate, Passport) before your first visit - call our team to find out.

You do not need to be a patient with us to be seen by one of our medical team.If you’re a visitor to the region and need medical care, you’re also welcome. Please call our friendly team for an appointment.  All visitors and casual patients, please be aware that extra charges can apply when you are not enrolled.

Fees and payment

  • Information on our fee structure can be found in the waiting room area or ask for a schedule of fees. If you have any questions regarding fees, please speak to the receptionist
  • Payment can be made by cash, cheque, VISA, MasterCard and EFTPOS and internet banking.
  • Please note payment is expected at the time of consultation. A $3.00 administration fee will be added to consultation fee if full payment is not paid on the day. An additional $5.00 monthly account fee will be added at the end of the month if the account is still outstanding, this will be refunded if the balance is paid within 7 days

Our hours are:  Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm

In a life threatening emergency, call 111 for an ambulance immediately, or go to the nearest Emergency Department at Tauranga Hospital.

After hours please call our main line for advice 07 928 0962 or go to The Doctors Bayfair, 42 Girven Rd, Mt Maunganui, open till 6pm Monday - Friday and 8am - 2pm weekends and public holidays for acute care, ph 07 572 6800. Outside these hours go to Accident & Healthcare, 19 Second Ave, Tauranga, 3110, open till 9pm, ph 577 0010
