The Cost of Health Care in New Zealand

Healthcare in New Zealand is a mixture of free and subsidised services, where patients pay a fee to cover some of the costs of providing healthcare services.

Free and subsidised care is only available to New Zealand residents, with exceptions in some cases for visitors from countries like the UK and Australia where New Zealand have reciprocal agreements. Ask our reception team if you think you may be entitled to a funded service for your visit or have any other questions on our fees.

Useful Information About Fees at The Doctors

Hi, I am Andrew, I started working at the Doctors Phoenix in November 21.

I graduated from Leicester Medical school in 2006 and have worked in General Practice for over 12 years and thoroughly enjoy offering holistic care in the community to families. One of the aspects that I really enjoy in General Practice is getting to know our patients well and their families as they grow and managing a large variety of conditions. It gives me great job satisfaction and every day is different. I also have a special interest in orthopaedics.
In my spare time I enjoy Photography, Cinematography, Bike riding and Hiking, and look forward to improving my skills with Watersports. We're looking forward to settling in, here in Whakatane, and exploring New Zealand.
