We also offer a range of special medical clinics and have a number of visiting specialists working from the practice. We are proudly Cornerstone Accredited through our commitment to meeting legal and safety standards and continuous quality improvement.  We have female and male doctors available and have a Saturday morning clinic. There is plenty of parking available and disability access.

Covid-19 Tests & Results
If you have Covid-19 symptoms or are a household contact of a positive case please visit the Northland DHB website to find your closest testing station as we have limited capacity currently to offer RATs. Most testing is now done via Rapid Antigen Testing (RATs) with results available within 30mins. You will need to self-report your result via My COVID Record or by calling 0800 222 478 and pressing option 3. The majority of positive cases will be able to self-manage and required to follow current isolation rules. If you have concerns or if your symptoms are worsening, call us on 09 419 2180 or 111 in an emergency.

  • Immunisations
  • Womens Health
  • Chronic Disease Management

Influenza Immunisation

The Influenza immunisation is recommended and currently subsidised by the Government for any person over 65 years old and any person with a chronic condition. Others may have the immunisation if they wish. The immunisation does not protect against the common cold, tonsillitis, sinusitis or bronchitis.

Travel Vaccinations

Make an appointment with one of our GPs to discuss travel immunisations and other required medications. The vaccinations will be ordered by the pharmacy. Please allow at least 6 weeks prior to travel to ensure you have time for a full course of immunisation.

Immunisations for Children

We recommend immunisation at 6 weeks, 3 months, 5 months, 15 months, 4 years, and 11 years of age in accordance with current National guidelines. We are happy to discuss benefits and risks with all parents. Please book an appointment with a Nurse.

Child Development Checks

Routine medical checks for children are recommended 6 weeks prior to immunisation, and also at 9 months, 2.5 years and 4 years of age. This is a normal Doctor's appointment.

Minor Surgery

All aspects of minor surgery are catered for, including removal of warts, moles and skin cancers. Cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen is usually available at the time of an initial appointment. For other surgery, an initial appointment is required for assessment of the condition.

Maternity Advice

Make an appointment with your GP to discuss pregnancy advice. Midwives are the leading providers of maternity care, however we do offer emergency advice if necessary. You can find a list of local midwives online at Find your midwife.

Contraception

An initial consultation for all contraception choices should be made with a GP. For repeat prescriptions of the pill, mini pill or depo injection, an appointment can be made with a nurse.

Blood and X-ray Results

We will only contact you if we receive an abnormal result. If we cannot contact you by phone, we will write to you. Please make sure that we have your up to date contact details at all times. If you would like your results, you are welcome to ring and speak to a nurse and if you remain unwell or are worried, please call and speak to one of our nurses. Results are also available on the doctors app.

The Cost of Health Care in New Zealand

Healthcare in New Zealand is a mixture of free and subsidised services, where patients pay a fee to cover some of the costs of providing healthcare services.

Free and subsidised care is only available to New Zealand residents, with exceptions in some cases for visitors from countries like the UK and Australia where New Zealand have reciprocal agreements. Ask our reception team if you think you may be entitled to a funded service for your visit or have any other questions on our fees.

Useful Information About Fees at The Doctors
