Welcome to our practice 

Located at the top of Bureta Road, The Doctors Bureta, are a small friendly team who will work with you and your family to provide the best general practice medical care, advice and support that you may need. Each member of our expert medical professionals also has specialist interests ranging from children, women's and men's health, sports medicine, minor surgery, specialist ACC work and skin checks. We have a variety of nurses clinics including; diabetes, immunisation, wound clinic, biopsies, healthy lifestyle, care plus, asthma and flu.

Visit us 5 days a week for booked GP appointments from Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

Covid-19 Tests & Results
If you have Covid-19 symptoms or are a household contact of a positive case please phone us to arrange your test - we are providing these through our drive-thru service. Most testing is now done via Rapid Antigen Testing (RATs) with results available within 30mins. You will need to self-report your result via My COVID Record or by calling 0800 222 478 and pressing option 3. The majority of positive cases will be able to self-manage and required to follow current isolation rules. If you have concerns or if your symptoms are worsening, call us on 07 576 7912 or 111 in an emergency.

Consults
Many consults are virtual (phone or video), with some in person. Phone us 07 576 7912 to book and tell us if you have any Covid-19 symptoms. We will explain what to do when coming into the practice. Please scan in and wear a mask at all times.

When you enrol with us, some of the benefits include:

Enrol Online

There’s no need to come into the clinic, you can enrol online - it’s secure and confidential. The online form will guide you and you will need to upload suitable identification:

After the enrolment form please complete an online medical questionnaire before your first visit:

Paper Enrolment

Paper enrolment forms are still available if you're not able to complete the online forms. For each person enrolling, simply print and complete:  the Enrolment Form, an Adult or Child Medical Questionnaire and email all files to [email protected] including a copy of your suitable identification

Not enrolled but need an appointment? 

You can still get an appointment even if you are not enrolled with us e.g. if you’re a visitor to the region. Just phone our friendly team for a casual appointment.  Extra charges apply for casual appointments when you are not enrolled.

After Hours

For after hours care, please call our number 07 576 7912 and you will be diverted to a nurse for medical advice. You can go to The Doctors Bayfair 42 Girven Rd, Mt Maunganui, open Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm and Saturday 8am-12pm. Closed Sunday and  public holidays.

    Welcoming our new doctor Rob Coddington to our team. Rob joins us from London, UK with years of experience in various medical specialties and emergency medicine. His interests outside of work include running and music. He will be taking new enrolments from early April.

    Dr Aloechka Delamaine has recently joined the Bureta team and taking on new patients. She has come from Australia where she was a GP and has recently completed qualifications in emergency medicine.

    Megan is a Nurse Practitioner at The Doctors Bureta. She is an advanced nurse who can assess patients and prescribe medication. Megan works alongside our GPS to ensure holistic patient centered care and a team approach. Megan has a specialty area of diabetes and long-term condition management and enjoys women’s health. Outside of work Megan is married with three young adult children. She enjoys walking, biking and musical theatre.

    BA, MBChB, Dib Obs, Dip Practical Dermatology, Dip Dermoscopy, FRNZCGP

    Dr Gareth Blackshaw is a graduate of the University of Otago, with 44 years experience in general practice, care of the elderly and additional qualifications in skin cancer diagnosis and surgery. Gareth and his wife live in central Tauranga with 3 daughters in Wellington.
